Choosing a caravan is less about "which is prettier" and more about "which suits my use". When you answer the following seven criteria in order, the options naturally narrow down to a few models.
1. How many people will travel?
If you set off as a couple, a compact model is more than enough. For a family with children, on the other hand, the bunk layout is decisive. Our bunk beds measure 720 × 1850 mm; the folding bunk option also frees up the daytime space.
2. What is your towing vehicle's capacity?
This is not a romantic but a mathematical question. Compare the maximum towable trailer weight on your vehicle's registration with the caravan's maximum laden weight. Your driving licence is also part of this calculation.
3. Fixed bed or convertible?
A fixed bed removes the hassle of setting it up every evening but takes space from the daytime area. A dining table convertible into a bed, on the other hand, provides spaciousness by day and an extra bed at night. In our models, the seating-area bed measures 1935 × 1500 mm.
4. How long will you stay off-grid?
If you stay at campsites, a 220V connection solves your problem. If you plan to spend a few days in the middle of nature, the fresh water tank volume and battery capacity are your priority criterion.
5. Manoeuvring and parking
A long caravan means spaciousness inside; but it offers a different experience on narrow coastal roads, forest camps and the housing-estate car park. It is a good idea to think from the start where you will park the caravan in winter.
6. Bathroom layout
A layout with a separate shower tray and bathroom cabinet is comfortable; in compact models, space efficiency comes to the fore. Decide according to your frequency of use.
7. Manufacturer's warranty and service
A caravan is a long-lasting investment. The warranty period the manufacturer stands behind and its spare parts commitment are the item you notice most after the sale.
